Mountain summer at 1000 meters

A vacation in the mountains is soul food for the soul. Sipping a Spritz in the sun or drinking your first coffee on a mountain peak in the morning. Both have their charm. – But you can do more than just hike here. Archery, tennis, mini golf and much more awaits you. Because you don’t have to commit yourself. With us, you’re in the middle of a mountain paradise: You can be in Zell am See in no time at all and either splash around in the lake or go stand-up paddling. You can also hike up the peaks around the lake and enjoy the fantastic view towards the Grossglockner. And if you don’t want to be on two legs but on two wheels, climb the peaks in the bike park in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Everything is possible!

Our tip

By foot from the brandgut to our alpine pasture: If you hike up the path, you will arrive at our alpine pasture after about 1 hour. – It is not serviced, but the view from up there is magnificent. Our horses love it too, as they spend the summer up there on the pasture.

Fridays

Your host Julia will take you up to the mountain pasture by car every Friday in summer (by arrangement up to 24 hours in advance). A breathtaking view awaits you there. You can then set off on the picturesque hike to the Stablberg hut. There you will find a cozy snack station where you can make yourself comfortable. The way back to the brandgut takes you along an idyllic hiking trail without any steep climbs, so you can enjoy the relaxed round tour to the full.

Bike

Don’t keep your feet still!

Did you know that Austria’s largest bike region is just a stone’s throw away? Over 80 kilometers of downhill trails are shred-ready, learn-to-ride parks await kids and beginners and (e-)mountain bikers won’t manage to ride all the tours even in two weeks. You bet!

For leisurely bike excursions, there is also the scenic promenade on Lake Zell and flat cycle paths through small villages around Maishofen. Here you can cruise along relaxed, level and easy on the calves and treat yourself to an ice cream along the way before diving into the refreshing lake. E-bikes can be rented directly at brandgut – € 45 per day.

Hiking

When you put on your hiking boots after breakfast, you’re practically at the starting point of your tour. Because from the brandgut, you have plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding mountains. You will find a leisurely circular route here as well as challenging day tours to Saalbach, Leogang or the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See.

If you prefer to cover your vertical meters by cable car, you can reach one of over 10 lifts in just a few minutes by car, which will take you directly up to the most beautiful peaks in the region.

Golf

Time for a par-tea

36 greens between mountains, glacier and lake. You are spoiled for choice when choosing the view for the game of golf. The tee shot with a view of the imposing mountains of the Salzburger Land is quite something, isn’t it? Between April and October you can perfect and further develop your golf skills.

Who doesn’t dream of becoming a golf professional – and where better to train than in front of an impressive mountain view? For everyone for whom the golf course is a bit too big: You can practice and refine your tee shot at short distances on the numerous mini golf courses in the region.
