What are your payment options?

Check-in is possible from 14:00. Check-out until 10:00.
Can we arrive earlier anyway?
You can always ask. If your room was not occupied, an early check-in should be quite possible.
How far away is the train station?
Zell am See & Saalfelden are some 15 minutes away by car
How do you get from the train station to the brandgut?
We will gladly pick you up at the station. Please let us know in advance so that we can arrange for your collection.
Are there parking spaces?
Yes, even covered ones.
Do we have to pay for parking?
No
Is there an e-charging station?
Yes – there are two charging stations available.
Can I reserve the e-charging station?
No, unfortunately that’s not possible.
Are the e-charging stations free of charge?
Yes — as long as availability lasts.
Can I bring my dog?
Of course. A four-legged friend costs € 18 per day in the brandgut. This includes Dog-Poop-Bags
Can I bring my cat?
Unfortunately not.
Do you have e-bikes for rent?
Yes. We have Giant Fathom E+ 3 Power Bikes in sizes S, M and L available. With these you can explore the surroundings for a rental fee of €45 per day.
Do you have air-conditioning?
No, we have windows.
Do you also serve vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, etc. food?
Yes, you won’t go hungry here. Please let us know in advance and we’ll be able to meet your requests.
Does the Ski-Shuttle depart at all times of the day?
No, our shuttle service runs from 08:30 – 11:00 & from 15:00-17:00.
To which lift stations does the Ski-Shuttle go and where does it pick us up again?
We will take you to the zellamseeXpress in Viehhofen and to the Schönleitenbahn Saalbach. We will also pick you up again at the shuttle times.
Can we take our dog to the restaurant?
There is a dedicated section in our restaurant where dogs are warmly welcome.
Is there a lift in the building?
Yes, there is! Six floors are too much even for the staff and manager to walk up and down on a daily basis.
Where is the nearest bus stop?
Right at the entrance to our secret hideaway. Given a body height of between 1.70 and 1.95 m and a normal, average gait, that’s about 2,000 steps or 3 minutes downhill by car.
Is the Jokercard available in the brandgut?
No, but in Summer we have the Viehhofner Guest Card. More details can be found at: www.viehhofen.at.
Is it possible to get around even without a car?
Yes, with the free GUEST MOBILITY TICKET, you can use all public transport in the Salzburg region from the first to the last day of your holiday with us for FREE. Our tip: If you are arriving by train, be sure to check in online, as the train journey from Salzburg to Zell am See or Saalfelden is already included.
Where is the nearest swimming spot?
The nearest place to swim is right behind our house: our natural swimming pond – perfect for a refreshing dip after a hike, bike tour or sauna session. If you’d like to try something different, several lakes and pools are close by:
• Zell am See – a large alpine lake with beach areas & crystal-clear water
• Ritzensee Saalfelden – a natural swimming lake with a beautiful sunbathing lawn
• Captain Hook Outdoor Pool Saalbach – a fun adventure pool for all ages
• Indoor Pool Zell am See – ideal on rainy days
Incidentally, the Sommercard grants free admission to the lidos in Thumersbach, Maishofen and Zell am See on Lake Zell. So you’ll always find the perfect place to cool off – right on our doorstep or just a short drive away.
What is included in the half-board?
Breakfast buffet & dinner with starter, soup, salad bar, main course and dessert.
You have two set meals to choose from.
What if I don’t like the food that is served today?
Then you are welcome to eat à la carte in our restaurant.
Can I ride on your horses?
No, our horses are not trained for riding lessons. But you are welcome to look at them, pet them and feed them (please ask us first).
Are there riding opportunities nearby?
Yes, very many. We’ll be happy to give you some addresses when you are here.
Is there a playground?
Yes, we have a playground with a sandbox, slide and various swings.
For the older ones, there is a Calisthenicspark, a bouldering wall and a zip line just a few metres away.
Are all the animals there in summer?
No, in summer the animals live in their holiday homes. The horses on the Alpine pasture and the sheep and goats in their villa, just a few metres away from our hotel.
Can you visit all the animals?
Yes, you can visit them all and watch Julia feed them by prior arrangement.
Do you have a closing day in summer?
No, there is no closing day in summer.
Do you serve breakfast for non-guests as well?
Yes, always and with pleasure. But please reserve a table beforehand to make sure there is enough space.
Where can I store my hiking boots?
You’re welcome to place your hiking boots in the ski cellar. There you can change them and let them dry.
Are slippers available on site?
We’ve said goodbye to disposable slippers for environmental reasons. So please bring your own bathing shoes – or grab a pair of our brand-new brandgut slippers in the shop!
Is there a ski room and a bike room?
Yes, there is – well-ventilated, tidy, and easy to access. Each room has its own numbered locker where you can safely store your ski or bike equipment.
Can I drive up to you in winter?
Of course – our road is always cleared of snow and salted when needed. If you still run into difficulties during very bad conditions, we’re happy to pick you up at the bottom. And we’ll bring your car up with you the next day.
Are bathrobes available?
Of course, all our guests receive bathrobes – however, please note that we do not have children’s bathrobes.
Are we allowed to bring our own drinks?
No, outside drinks are not permitted in the brandgut.
BUT: Why not try our ‘Roomies’, which you can take to your room or to our fire pits. You can pick up a small, fine selection of wine and beer at our bar. (Unfortunately, you cannot take our Roomies to the spa or drink them in the restaurant. They are intended for moments of togetherness!)
Is late check-in possible?
Yes, absolutely. If you’re arriving later, just let us know on the day of arrival. We’ll then send you a photo of our key box along with the code via WhatsApp.
Can we still get dinner if we arrive after 8:00 PM?
Unfortunately not – our kitchen closes at 8:00 PM and cannot offer dinner after that.
However, if you let us know early enough, we’re happy to prepare a small snack platter for you so you won’t have to go to bed hungry.
Can we celebrate special occasions with you?
Absolutely! If you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or any other heartfelt moment, just let us know in advance. We can arrange flowers, a small cake, or other surprises and prepare a beautifully decorated table for you.
Please note that we don’t have our own decorations like balloons, streamers, or confetti. If you’d like to bring your own, that’s possible with prior notice – we’ll happily let you into the restaurant a bit earlier so you can set everything up in peace.
Can we buy ski passes from you?
No, at the moment you can’t purchase ski passes directly at the brandgut.
All tickets, offers, and special deals are available at the ticket offices of the Schönleitenbahn and the ZellamseeXpress – you’ll always get the right rate there.
Are dogs allowed in the wellness area?
No – dogs are not permitted in the wellness area.
Can dogs go to the pool area?
No – the pool area is also dog-free. We kindly ask for your understanding that not all guests are dog lovers.
Are there yoga or meditation sessions?
Yes! At the brandgut we offer 1 yoga session per week and 2 meditation sessions per week – perfect for slowing down, breathing deeply, and reconnecting with yourself.
May we take the brandgut bathrobes, towels and spa bag to the TauernSpa or the Gastein thermal baths?
Yes – after a quick check-in with us, you’re welcome to borrow our bathrobes, towels and spa bag.
Is there a discount for group bookings?
No – we don’t offer discounts for group bookings.
But: our regular guests are of course rewarded … and maybe you’ll soon be one of them!
Are there shuttle rides outside the regular times?
No – our shuttle operates only during the fixed hours. Our team also needs a little break in between.
From when is the Summer Card valid?
The Summer Card is valid from your first vacation day – but not on the arrival day. On your departure day, however, you can still enjoy all attractions around Zell am See, Kaprun and Viehhofen at your leisure.
